Jacques-Louis David

Jacques-louis David (1748 -- 1825) was a French famous painter of neoclassical style.His most famous works include “The Death of Marat (1793)” and “Napoleon at the Saint-Bernard Pass (1801)”. In the later period of the flirtatious rococo art, some historical paintings made the art close to the classical style, which was called the neoclassical period by later generations.
